The purpose of the seminar is to connect survivors of physical and sexual violence with local experts in trauma, law enforcement, legal, crisis services and social workers for a better understanding of resources available in East Texas, comprehension of how agencies coordinate and work together, and gain knowledge on how survivors can benefit from the services provided.
A keynote address will be delivered by JJ Simmons.
Sessions will include presentations from Lone Star Legal Aide, the East Texas Crisis Center and the UT Tyler Social Work Department.
The seminar is FREE and open to survivors and professionals who provides direct therapeutic services, professionals who are involved with advocacy (macro or policy-related), professionals who work for Child Protective Services, professionals who provide case management.
You must pre-register by October 7th to attend.
